ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse Jr. at Charlotte Motor Speedway

The driver of the No. 17 Fastenal Ford will try to race his way in to Saturday night’s All-Star race this Friday night in the Sprint Showdown. If he doesn’t race his way in, then he will rely on the fan vote to get in to the All-Star race.

Last year’s Sprint Showdown

The two-time Nationwide Series champion started the first 20-lap shootout in the eighth-position and maneuvered his way into fifth before the caution flag waved for the final 20-lap segment. After a four tire pit stop during the break, the 2013 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year battled with a tight machine in the final laps forcing him to settle for a seventh-place finish.

Fastenal

·        Fastenal is currently in its fourth season as a primary partner in the NSCS for Roush Fenway. They spent three years on the No. 99 before jumping over to the No. 17 entry, and were the primary partner on the No. 60 XFINITY team that captured the owner’s championship in 2011.

·        Fastenal will run a patriotic scheme next weekend at Charlotte to honor Memorial Day.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing in the Sprint Showdown:

“We raced our way into the All-Star race in 2013 so hopefully we can do that again this year. We as an organization have been making gains on our intermediate program so I feel we should have a shot to win one of the two rounds and get our Fastenal Ford in to the All-Star race.”

Sandler on racing in the Sprint Showdown:

“We have to win one of the two 20 laps segments on Friday night to advance into the All-Star race on Saturday so that’s our plan. The Sprint All-Star race is such a cool race due to all the fan excitement and energy plus a lot of family and friends are in attendance. It would be great for Fastenal and our team to be able to race our way into the All-Star event and have a strong showing.”
