RAHAL AND SERVIA COMFORTABLE WITH HANDLING HEADING INTO FAST FRIDAY FOR THE INDY 500

1)         Simon Pagenaud      228.793 mph  46 laps

12)       Graham Rahal           226.941 mph  55 laps

16)       Oriol Servia               226.357 mph  93 laps

GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 Steak ‘n Shake Dallara/Honda/Firestone:  “Today was a really good day for us; we’ve really improved the Steak ‘n Shake car a lot in race trim. Most of our day was spent working on qualifying stuff. We figured out a couple of tricks there and I’m pretty comfortable with the car.  Tomorrow we will work on qualifying trim all day. We will work on trying to improve the car, get some consistency and a little more speed but I think the biggest thing is consistency at this point.”

FAST FACTS: Will be his eighth Indy 500 and fourth with RLL. His best qualifying position in the Indy 500 is fourth in 2009 with Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing and best finish is third with Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing in 2011 after he led six laps. He ran in the top-five in four of his seven previous races here… He is tied for fourth in series point standings with Scott Dixon with a total of 144 and is only 27 points out of first place (Juan Pablo Montoya, 177).

ORIOL SERVIA, No. 32 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone:  “Today was much, much better at the end of the day. Yesterday we ran full tanks and I was not really comfortable and one day later I am a lot more comfortable after we made big improvements. We only worked on the race car; we didn’t do much qualifying work today but my super teammate Graham started working on a couple of things in qualifying trim so we know what direction to go in tomorrow. I feel pretty good. It was an easy day today, it wasn’t as hot as it will probably be on race day but it’s a good step towards where we need to go.”

FAST FACTS: Will be his seventh Indy 500 and third with RLL. His best finish here is fourth in 2012 with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and best start in 2011 with Newman/Haas Racing.

NEXT UP:  Practice resumes tomorrow from 12-6 p.m. ET.
