Leffler Knows the Way to Victory Lane at Nashville Superspeedway… In 2004 (June), Jason Leffler captured his first career NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) victory at Nashville Superspeedway. In that race, he started from the outside pole and led for 61 laps before taking the checkered flag.

Nashville Superspeedway: by the numbers… In 12 starts at Nashville Superspeedway, Leffler has captured one win, four top-five and six top-10 finishes. He has an average start of 15.7 and an average finishing position of 18.2 with 125 laps led.

This week’s Impala…. This weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, the No. 38 team will unload chassis TM-123. This chassis last saw track time at Auto Club Speedway where Leffler brought home an 11th-place finish after starting 16th.

Leader of the pack… With 15th-place finish last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, Leffler regained control of the NNS point standings. The rest of the top-five in the standings includes Justin Allgaier (-2), Elliott Sadler (-5), Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. (-8) and Reed Sorenson (-9).

Got My First Real Six String… In hopes of bringing home the custom Gibson guitar trophy on Friday night,Leffler and his Turner Motorsports teammates will take a private tour of the Gibson Guitar Factory in Nashville on Thursday afternoon. Start of a new era for Turner Motorsports… The 2011 season marks the start of a new era for Turner Motorsports. The team has expanded in 2011 from a two-truck operation in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) to become the largest stand-alone multi-series team in NASCAR’s top-tier touring series, fielding three entries in the NCWTS and four entries in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS). Three of the team’s regular NNS drivers (Jason Leffler, Reed Sorenson and Justin Allgaier) have been pegged as viable contenders to win the 2011 NNS driver championship.

Happy 10-Year Anniversary, Great Clips… This season marks Great Clips’ 10-year anniversary as a primary sponsor in the NNS. The Minneapolis-based Great Clips, Inc., which is currently the longest-running primary sponsor in the series, came onto the scene in 2001 as a primary sponsor of Akins Motorsports No. 38 entry, then driven by Christian Elder.

Leffler on Racing at Nashville Superspeedway

“I always enjoy going back to Nashville. I have great memories of the place, having got my first Nationwide Series win there back in 2004. It’s funny though, I have definitely had my fair share of highs and lows at Nashville – winning in 2004 and going back the next time and suffering an engine failure. It seems like I either finish really good there or have some sort of mechanical failure. I don’t see that being a problem this time around, not with the equipment this Turner Motorsports team provides. We just need to capitalize on our previous success at this track by qualifying up front, running a smooth race and being there at the end to contend for the win. I already have one customized Gibson guitar trophy but I would love another one to add to the collection for my son, Charlie! There is a lot to be said for momentum in this sport and we are definitely riding a strong wave of it right now.”
