CHASTAIN HIGHEST FINISHING ROOKIE

DOVER, Del. – Ross Chastain scored his best finish since the season-opening race at Daytona with a 16th-place run in Saturday’s Buckle Up 200 at Dover International Speedway.

Chastain started the year with a ninth-place finish at Daytona. Saturday’s finish was his fourth in the top 17 and kept him 16th in the series point standings.

Chastain was the race’s highest-finishing rookie in his debut Xfinity event at the tough one-mile. He drove the Watermelon.org/Heroes Haven Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller.

“A very good day for us,” Chastain said. “I really like the track. It’s fast but tough. We were able to race in the front group all day and stay out of trouble.”

Chris Buescher won the race and stayed in the points lead.

The series has next week off before a June 13 race at Michigan International Speedway.
