ADVANCE NOTES

Buescher at Daytona International Speedway

Roush Fenway Racing’s Chris Buescher will make his third NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday night.

Buescher crossed the finish line in dramatic fashion in February, pushing his teammate Ryan Reed to his first career victory and finishing second, his best finish at the 2.5-mile track.  The Prosper, Texas native’s best start came in this race last year, when he lined up third.

In two ARCA Racing Series starts at Daytona International Speedway, Buescher’s best start was eighth (2012 and 2013), and his best finish was second (2011).

So far this season in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, Buescher maintains an average running position inside the top 10, and holds the best average finishing position (7.1).  Buescher also ranks first in the number of quality passes, with 676.

On the Car

The No. 60 Ford Mustang carries the Bit-O-Honey colors this weekend at Daytona International Speedway.

The honey flavored taffy was first manufactured in 1924 and is now produced by Pearson Candy Company in St. Paul, Minn.  Pearson Candy Company, founded in 1909, is also known for other classic brands such as the Salted Nut Roll, Mint Patties, Nut Goodie and Bun Bar.  Visit them online at pearsonscandy.com, fan Bit-O-Honey Racing on Facebook or follow on Twitter @pearsonscandy.

Recapping Chicagoland Speedway

Buescher earned his eighth top-five finish of the season in Sunday’s rain-postponed race at Chicagoland Speedway.  Buescher overcame a pit road speeding penalty to finish fifth in the 200-Lap race, maintaining his lead in the series point standings.

QUOTE WORTHY

Chris Buescher on racing at Daytona International Speedway

“It was nice to have an off weekend, but our team is ready to get back to the track and get into our summer stretch.  It is exciting to have Bit-O-Honey on board for another race and we know we have a good superspeedway program at Roush Fenway.  I just need to try to position myself in a good spot at the end of the race to get a win.”
