SHINING STARS: Four Camry drivers are scheduled to compete in Saturday nightās Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway -- Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth and Brian Vickers. Busch finished third in last yearās All-Star event while his fellow Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) drivers -- Hamlin (sixth) and Kenseth (ninth) also recorded top-10 finishes.
Ford announced the opening of its new Ford Technical Support Center in Concord, N.C. today. The state-of-the-art facility will add an array of tools to develop future performance vehicles and help increase Fordās overall success in motorsports.
Target is expanding its sponsorship in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) to include the up & up brand as the primary sponsor on the No. 42 Turner Scott Motorsportsā (TSM) Chevrolet Camaro for five races. For the first time in 10 years, Jimmy Weller will compete at one of the tracks at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway complex. On October 13, 2004, Weller sustained critical injuries while attempting to make his USAC debut in a race at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie Michael Annett will take part in his first All-Star Race weekend, taking to the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday night for the Sprint Showdown. The top two finishers in the race will advance to Saturday night's Sprint All-Star Race.
