Another late-race rally by Kurt Busch boosted the Furniture Row Racing driver to a sixth-place finish in Sunday’s rain-delayed Quaker State 400. The Sprint Cup Series race, originally scheduled for Saturday night, was postponed due to wet weather at Kentucky Speedway.
Matt Kenseth corralled his first Kentucky Speedway NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) victory by gaining the race lead on a fuel-only pit stop with 23 laps remaining and raced away to a 0.699 of a second victory in the Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts.

It is all about getting the clean air. It was hard to pass out there. The guys did a great job with the Shell Pennzoil Ford. We lost track position on the restart before the last one and then we made up a lot at the end. We were sitting pretty in fourth when the caution came out and that usually puts you second or third at first. I was hoping for one more caution because I thought I was in the cat-bird seat if that happened.”
The OSCAAR Modified tour brings an upstart roster with it to Sunset Speedway this weekend after putting its best show on display last Friday at Delaware Speedway. The Modifieds, like the Super Late Models, will take part in their first ever set of back-to-back shows as part of the Don Biederman Memorial weekend.
OSCAAR Racing will make history this weekend with back-to-back 50-lap feature events at Sunset Speedway on June 29 & June 30 to mark the 15th annual Don Biederman Memorial. OSCAAR has never raced complete shows on consecutive days, but will do so this weekend for the first time as part of its biggest event of the season.
