Michael Waltrip Racing will host its annual Fan Fest in the fall at the height of NASCAR’s “Chase for the Sprint Cup.” The event at MWR’s headquarters in Cornelius, N.C., has traditionally been held during Charlotte Motor Speedway’s May events, but this season the race shop is undergoing some capital improvements to further enhance the visitor and employee experience.

Roush Fenway Racing’s Trevor Bayne got tangled up in a wreck less than 25 laps into Friday night’s VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200. The No. 6 Cargill team worked hard and fast during a series of pit stops at Darlington Raceway to make rear-end body repairs and keep the car on the track. By the checkered flag, Bayne was fewer than 10 laps down from the leader and finished in 32nd place.
After starting on the pole and leading a race total of 69 laps, Kurt Busch slipped to a 14th-place finish in Saturday night's Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
In his 700th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career start, Jeff Gordon took the lead for Team Chevy by scoring a third-place finish at the Bojangles’ Southern 500 in his No. 24 Cromax Pro Chevrolet SS. A seven-time winner at Darlington, this marked Gordon’s 300th top-five finish in the sport; which recognizes him as becoming the fourth driver to accomplish this feat (joining David Pearson, Bobby Allison and Richard Petty).

The 31-year-old Hill from Winston, Georgia, led a race-high 78 of 120 laps and persevered through a two-lap shootout to win the O'Reilly opener at Daytona for a fourth time in five years.
All six Toyota GR Supras from Joe Gibbs Racing and Sam Hunt Racing failed to finish an incident-filled NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday evening.
Nick Sanchez finished eighth in Stage 1, despite being collected in a multi-car accident coming to the finish line. The damage, however, was enough to force him out of the race in 36th place.
