The cars are challenging to drive like we thought they would be and like we hoped they would be. The mid-corner speed is way down. The straightaway speed is way up, so that’s a bit of a handful, but the good kind of handful that I think really challenges drivers to push it to the limits.

SPARTA, Ky. -- The repave wasn't the only change made to the racing surface at Kentucky Speedway. It was announced back in early-January that the 1.5-mile facility would undergo its first repave in its 17-year history. In addition, they changed the degree of the banking in turns 1 and 2, narrowed the width of the turns, improved drainage and added over three-thousand feet of SAFER barrier.
