Charlotte, NC (April 7, 2011) – The No. 7 Fast Five / SPEED Energy Dodge Charger R/T team is preparing to take the Lone Star state by storm this weekend with their promotion of the upcoming action-thriller Fast Five. Dodge and Universal have teamed up with Robby Gordon Motorsports and SPEED Energy to promote the April 29th release. For the second week, the No. 7 Dodge Charger R/T will be painted in a flat black Fast Five / SPEED Energy scheme.
Robby Gordon doesn’t do anything that doesn’t involve speed.including his new sponsor and energy drink, SPEED Energy. “That’s what makes this promotion of Fast Five so exciting for me, like the movie, my lifestyle revolves around SPEED,” says Gordon. “I’m honored to be a part of this; it’s going to be a fun month promoting the movie release!”
In the spring race at Texas Motor Speedway last year, Robby Gordon recorded a 26th finish. Since making his debut at the 1.50-mile quad-oval on April 6, 1997, Gordon has recorded 15 starts and has completed over 4,500 laps around the circuit.
“We had a good run last weekend at Martinsville, so we are working off that momentum this week. We were really good here in November, but we had a mechanical issue in the race that led to DNF. We definitely had a top-15 car, so we came back with similar setup. We expect to be good this weekend,” commented Gordon.
As part of the promotion with Dodge and Universal, the first 200 fans that registered www.speedenergy.com will see a special Fast Five movie viewing with Robby Gordon on Saturday, April 30, in Richmond, VA at Movieland at Boulevard Square. Fans will receive a commemorative ticket and photo opportunity with Gordon at a private meet and greet session prior to the movie. All 200 fans will automatically be registered in a grand prize drawing that includes four VIP credentials to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on April 20 at 7:30 pm, honorary pit crewmember status and a $200 shopping spree at the Robby Gordon Motorsports souvenir trailer.
