Nashville, TN (4-22-11) – Jason White and his Joe Denette Motorsports team had a tough start to their weekend in Music City trying to get the No. 23 GunBroker.com Chevrolet dialed-in, but a never give up attitude allowed for a strong finish by the rookie team in the Bully Hill Vineyards 200 at Nashville Superspeedway.

Starting 29th, White battled a loose Chevrolet Silverado for most of Saturday’s 150-lap event. However, the Richmond, VA native battled his way back from a lap down utilizing pit strategy to gain 16 positions en route to a 13th-place finish in the fifth event on the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule. The solid finish was a track best for White at the 1.333-mile oval. In five starts, the 31-year-old had two DNF’s and his best finish was 16th (2009).

Quotes:

“I feel like if we could have unloaded where we finished the race we would have had a top-5 finish today,” said White. “We were playing catch-up all weekend and just had to fight hard for what we got.”

“We got a lap down early on and spent most of the race trying to get it back. Once we did, we were good. I was loose on new tires and felt like I had my truck dialed-in with about 20 to go. Unfortunately, that caution came out with 12 to go and we lost momentum with those guys on new tires. I feel like if the race had stayed green we would have been sitting pretty.”

“I’m happy with the results of this team tonight. We didn’t unload a 13th-place truck and my guys worked hard today and didn’t give up on me and we were able to bring the truck home in one piece and have a good finish and most importantly a decent point’s day. We know what we need to come back here with and I can’t wait.”

Notes:

• Jason White received the O’Reilly Auto Parts Position Improvement Award (16 places)

• White is currently 18th in driver’s points, up four positions.

• In five starts, the Joe Denette Motorsports team has two top-10 and one top-15 finish.

• White currently has an average starting position of 20.4 and an average finishing position

of 21.6 in 2011

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will take another two weeks off before heading to Dover International Speedway for the Lucas Oil 200 on Friday night, May 13. White has six starts at the “Monster Mile”.

Jason White and his Joe Denette Motorsports team will head to Richmond International Raceway on Thursday, April 28 to participate in the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown. White, a Richmond, Virginia native, got behind the wheel of his first late model at the Wednesday, April 20 test in preparation for the event. The late model belongs to crew chief, Chad Kendrick, a late model racer himself, and will be calling the shots for White in his No. 23 Joe Denette Motorsports/GunBroker.com machine.
