CONCORD, N.C. (June 3, 2011) — Leavine Family Racing (LFR), currently a single-team operation in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS), announced Thursday that the organization Leavine Fenton Racing will now be known as Leavine Family Racing.
The former members of Leavine Fenton Racing have completed a transaction that has resulted in the rebranding of the Tyler, Texas-based company, effective immediately. Bob Leavine and the Leavine family acquired all of the assets of the team and took over operation of the organization in April.
The racing team, which boasts an entry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – the No. 95 car with driver David Starr, is now solely owned by the Leavine family and has been rebranded Leavine Family Racing.
Leavine and his former business partner, Lance Fenton, jointly announced before the team’s debut at Texas Motor Speedway their decision for Leavine to acquire Fenton’s interests in the team. The announcement came after finalizing formalities with NASCAR.
The team appreciates the partnership and efforts of Fenton and maintains a friendly relationship.
Leavine Family Racing, which began competing in NASCAR this year, has three career-starts. With the acquisition of No. 95, the family-owned operation is scheduled to field the team in seven more events for the 2011 racing season in NASCAR’s premier series.
The team will continue to operate out of the current facility in Concord, N.C. The same team, crew and operations will continue to be an integral part of Leavine Family Racing.
