Harraka & Wauters Motorsports Partner with High Tech Sponsor MC10 for Martinsville

Mooresville, NC (March 23, 2012)-Paulie Harraka, the 2012 breakout Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and driver of the No. 5 Wauters Motorsports Ford F-150, partners with high tech sponsor MC10 for the Martinsville Speedway Kroger 250, March 31, 2012.

MC10 reshapes electronics to create thin, conformal systems that flex, stretch, and bend seamlessly with the natural world. The company is currently developing products for the sports, military, and biomedical fields and has initial partners including Reebok and Massachusetts General Hospital.

MC10’s patented technology allows conventional electronics to connect seamlessly with soft tissue both on and in the body, thereby creating entirely new types of wearable electronics.  A key aspect of this approach is the ability to create body-worn sensors that are durable and collect high quality data.

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to work with Paulie Harraka and Wauters Motorsports. This is a unique test bed for our wearable electronics platform, particularly given the extreme temperature changes under race conditions. The seamless sensors that we have under development for hydration, body temperature, and more can benefit the athletes of NASCAR and many other sports,” MC10 CEO David Icke said.

“MC10 is at the cutting edge of conformal electronics, and the opportunities for them are endless,” Paulie Harraka said. “I’m excited to have a partner that is so innovative and forward-thinking, and believe that this will be the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship. Using their products, both on and off the track, will help make me a stronger athlete.”

The Kroger 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated for Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:30pm ET.  The race will be broadcast live on SPEED.

Harraka will also be featured on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pre-race Set-up show on SPED beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 31, 2012.
