Martinsville, VA (April 1, 2012) – Making his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Martinsville Speedway, Max Gresham piloted the No. 24 Made In USA Brand Chevrolet to a career-best finish of 19th in Saturday’s Kroger 250.

Starting 26th, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender battled a tight handling Chevrolet Silverado in the opening laps of the 250-lap event. It wasn’t until just past halfway that the No. 24 machine came to life and Gresham began to make ground on the leaders.

Running 12th with just 14 laps to go, Gresham was spun by another competitor as he was making a pass on the outside in Turn-4. Gresham had to make three stops down pit road under caution to fix minor front-end damage. When racing resumed at lap 244, Gresham was scored in the 20th-position, one lap down to the race leaders.

In the closing six laps, Gresham made up one spot to finish 19th behind race winner Kevin Harvick.

Max Gresham Quotes:

“We had a good Made In USA Brand Chevrolet today but could have been a little better early on. We were fighting handling issues at the start of the race and couldn’t make up any ground. Finally, the truck came to life and we were poised for a great finish until I was spun in turn-4 with 14 laps to go. We had to make multiple trips down pit road to fix some damage, losing a lap. I hate it for all of my guys but that’s short track racing”

Notes:

·         Max Gresham is up six positions to 18th in the 2012 NCWTS driver point standings

·         Gresham was the sixth-highest finishing Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender
