Final Post-Race Quotes

Parker Kligerman (No. 29 Reese Towpower RAM) Finished 8TH “Our day was alright.  We didn’t qualify like we wanted to but both trucks were next to each other.  I had good start to the race.  I drove all the way inside the top five and was happy with our Reese Towpower RAM.  I got into some clean air and thought that I was going to take the lead a few times.  We just needed to make a few changes to get by the No. 31 truck (James Buescher).  I ran (there) most of the race until that debris caution.  We had just done a green-flag stop and when we came out (they) threw a caution.  The put us back in 13th and it’s so tough to run back there in dirty air.  Once you’re back in the back the aero is so tough that you’re fighting for scraps at that point.”

IT WAS A LOT WARMER TODAY.  HOW DID THAT PLAY A FACTOR IN THE RACE? “Not too much.  We planed for it.  Everyone on this Reese Towpower did a great job.  We’re solidly knocking off finishes, picking up valuable points and bringing home clean trucks.  We’re here to win the championships and it’s going to take consistency to do so.  We need to execute better.  We have good speed in our RAM.  We’ve got what it takes.”

IT WAS ANOTHER GOOD POINTS DAY FOR YOU:  “Yep, another good day. We’re gaining some ground and we haven’t made too many mistakes.  It’s a long season.  We’re working hard.”

Brad Keselowski (No. 19 Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation RAM) Finished 3RD “James (Buescher) drove a great race and congratulations to his team. That whole 31 truck, they were just lightning quick and they executed and that’s what it takes to win.  We did a good job with our team, with executing, and we just needed a little bit more speed and we might have had something for James but congratulations to him.  I know that’s a good win for him.

ARE YOU DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU WEREN’T ABLE TO BECOME THE 24TH DRIVER TO WIN A RACE IN ALL THREE NASCAR SERIES’?  “I don’t know if disappointed is the right word.  I’m just motivated.  I want to make that happen.  There’s never been a father-son combination to win in the Truck Series and I’d like to be the first one to do it.  I think that would be really cool.  I’m probably more motivated about that or more motivated for that reason than I am for the reason to join the 24 or 25 crowd.  We’re close.  We’re getting closer.  I know we’ve had some seconds and thirds in this deal.  It’s a lot harder when you do it with your own team versus a Cup-affiliated team, that’s for sure. It makes it that much more worth while.”

HOW MANY TRUCK RACES DO YOU PLAN ON RUNNING?  “We’ll probable run four more.  We’re going to run Charlotte, Bristol, Kentucky and Pocono.”

CAN YOU LEARN ANYTHING FROM THE TRACK TODAY THAT YOU CAN CARRY INTO TOMORROW’S RACE?  “I’m always learning.  Cold, hot, snowing, raining, you’re always learning if you get a chance to race.  I love racing. It was good.  I’m not going to tell you what I learned but I learned something.”

ARE YOU COMFORTABLE WITH THE TRACK BEING REPAVED?  “I’m extremely comfortable on this race track as it stands right now.  It’s a shame to see it torn up but I understand the reasons behind it. I’ll do the best that I can whether it’s new pavement, old pavement or dirt.”

DID YOU SEE THE FIVE-INCH CHUNK OF ASPHALT THAT CAME OUT OF THE TRACK?  “I did.  Somebody showed me a picture of it.”

ARE YOU GLAD THAT THEY ARE FIXING THE TRACK?  “I’d be glad if it was that piece that went through grill and ruined my day, yeah, absolutely.  I can respect the decision accordingly.”

WOULD YOU RACE EVERY SINGLE TIME THAT YOU CAN?  HAVE YOU REACHED A TIME IN YOUR CAREER THAT YOU NEED TO CUT BACK?  “I think I look over at Tony Stewart and that guys races as much or more then I do.  He just doesn’t work under the NASCAR label.  He runs Sprint cars, World of Outlaws, heck, he probably runs stuff that I don’t even know about.  I think it worked out pretty good for him last year.  There’s something to be said for both approaches.  I’m not married and I don’t have any kids that I know of so I don’t have to worry about it (laughs).”
