Sam Hornish Jr. (No. 12 Detroit Genuine Parts Dodge Challenger) Qualified 2nd HOW WAS YOUR QUALIFYING RUN?  “The run was good in our Detroit Genuine Parts Dodge.  We’ve had a good start to the season.  To be fourth in the points with some of the holes that we’ve dug ourselves so far this year, we feel pretty good about it.  We’re not even one-third of the way through the season.  We feel like we can hopefully keep moving forward a little bit at a time and catch up to the lead guys and give them a run for the money.  We gained points on them the last couple of weekends, but we’re only getting one of two at a time.  Not nearly enough.  I’m just looking forward in getting out there and get running tomorrow.  Our car was really good in practice.  We set down the fastest time.”

WHAT MAKES YOU RACE WELL HERE AT IOWA SPEEDWAY?  “I love going to Richmond (International Speedway) and I love Phoenix (International Raceway) and I guess this is something that is right in the middle of those two.  I look at (Iowa Speedway) as a compromise race track with the wide, sweeping corners that you have going into Turn 1, and it’s really straight going into Turn 3.  You’re not going to make your car perfect on both ends.  You can get it as good as you can on one end and then hustle it through the other end. I like tracks that are like that.  It seems to work out pretty well for me.”

Parker Kligerman (No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger) Qualified 10th HOW WAS YOUR QUALIFYING RUN?  “We made some changes off the morning practice that we thought would be beneficial for us but it looks like the track changed a lot.  We just didn’t keep up with the track and the temperature this afternoon.  We just got too tight with our Discount Tire Dodge Challenger for the qualifying run.  We’ve got a pretty good car for tomorrow.”

YOU WERE FAST IN THE 10-LAP AVERAGE IN PRACTICE.  IS YOUR CAR BETTER ON THE LONG RUN AND IN RACE TRIM? “We knew what we wanted to focus on in practice and what we were trying to get out of the car for qualifying.  A top 10 qualifying effort is right about where we thought we’d be.  The key is racing hard tomorrow and I think we have a fast car to race with these guys.”

THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE DRIVING A NATIONWIDE CAR.  HOW MUCH DIFFERENT IS IT FOR YOU AS COMPARED TO THE TRUCK SERIES?  “There are a lot of differences in braking that we use in the Nationwide car.  The corner speeds are different.  Adjusting your driving skills are really key.”
