GEICO Caveman Unreserved Gate 1 Available, All Other Areas – Sold Out
WATKINS GLEN, NY (July 25, 2012) – Fans attending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen who are interested in camping at Watkins Glen International for the weekend have just one option – GEICO Caveman unreserved camping at Gate 1. The popularity of spending the weekend at The Glen continues to increase and is especially evident this season with GEICO reserved and Family Camping sold out. As of July 25, fans are encouraged to purchase GEICO Caveman unreserved camping before that too sells out.
In February, The Glen announced GEICO reserved camping sold out earlier than in previous years. Family Camping, expanded in response to its popularity during the 2011 NASCAR weekend, is sold out. GEICO Caveman unreserved camping in Gate 7 is sold out.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen attendees may fill every camping spot The Glen has to offer this year. Space remains available in Gate 1 only at this time and Watkins Glen International encourages those interested in camping to purchase their spot as soon as possible. Prior to the 2011 season, 50 new lighting poles were placed throughout Gate 1 GEICO Caveman unreserved campgrounds. The Gate 1 GEICO Caveman unreserved area has increased lighting, nearby showers and water available. There are no hookups. Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and camper load-in begins on Wednesday, August 8 at 7:30 a.m.
