Kentucky Speedway Event Preview

WELCOME TO THE BLUE GRASS STATE: Elliott Sadler and the No. 11 OneMain Financial team travel to Sparta, Kentucky this weekend to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Feed the Children 300. In his Nationwide Series career, Sadler has competed at Kentucky Speedway three times with one pole award, two top-five and three top-10 finishes with 101 laps led. He also competed in one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the 1.5-mile track in 2011 where he started fourth and finished sixth.

LAST TIME AROUND:  Starting the June 2012 event at Kentucky Speedway in the 12th position, Sadler fought a loose-handling condition under the lights at the 1.5-mile track. The Emporia, Va., native competed in the top 10 for most of the day, but plagued with lacking front grip, Sadler settled for a ninth-place finish.

SUPPORTING THE REAL HEROES: The OneMain Financial team will continue to support the troops while in Kentucky with the Real Heroes Program. Fans will also have the opportunity to send thanks to the troops at participating OneMain Financial branches, and through social media. For more information, visit www.onemainracing.com and utilize #RealHeroes.

TO THE POINT: Sadler holds onto the fifth position in the Nationwide Series driver championship point standings, 48 points behind the leader with 18 races remaining in the 2013 season.

LAST RACE: Road America:  The No. 11 OneMain Financial team battled through a bout of adversity at the first road course race of the season last weekend at Road America. After making a qualifying run of 22nd, Sadler experienced engine problems, forcing the team to change the engine for the second time of the weekend. Dropping to back of the field to start the race, Sadler steadily moved through the field. With fuel-strategy in play throughout the entire event, the No. 11 OneMain Financial team was able to notch a ninth-place finish.

THINK PINK: The OneMain Financial driver will sport pink Oakley driving shoes throughout the entire Nationwide Series season to show support for breast cancer awareness and honor his mom, Bell. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, and is now a survivor. This season, he will also wear special pink Oakley driving gloves. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on his race-worn shoes throughout the season, with proceeds going toward breast cancer research and education. For more information, visit www.onemainracing.com.

MEET SADLER: Sadler will host a community meet and greet on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the OneMain Financial branch at 7118 Turfway Road in Florence Kentucky. Fans will have the opportunity to meet Sadler, participate in giveaways and take photos with the No. 11 OneMain Financial show car. For more information, visit www.onemainracing.com

DASH 4 CASH: This weekend’s race at Kentucky Speedway serves as the qualifying event for the Nationwide Insurance Dash 4 Cash. The top four highest-finishing Nationwide Series drivers to receive championship driver points this weekend will qualify for the first Dash 4 Cash event at Daytona International Speedway. The highest finisher of the four qualified drivers at Daytona will win $100,000 and automatically qualify for the next event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The same rules apply for the final two events at Chicagoland Speedway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Nationwide Insurance will award $1,000,000 to an eligible driver if he can win the first three Dash 4 Cash awards and wins the race outright at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Fans can apply to be part of the action by entering the Nationwide Series $100,000 sweepstakes at www.nascar.com/Dash4Cash.

Elliott Sadler Quotes:

“Kentucky Speedway is definitely a track that I enjoy coming to. We have a pretty good record here – sat on the pole two years ago, and ran pretty strong here in the second event last year. We had problems with our power steering while we were leading the race, so we are definitely coming back this weekend looking for a win. This OneMain Financial team has worked their tails off the past few weeks, and we are just looking for a break. I love racing under the lights, and it would be even better to drive that No. 11 into Victory Lane on Friday night.”
