Ford Indianapolis Friday Advance (Trevor Bayne)

Ford Racing NSCS Notes & Quotes:
Brickyard 400 Notes and Quotes (Indianapolis Motor Speedway)

Trevor Bayne will once again pilot the No. 6 Ford Mustang in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but this time the car has a distinct look, with a bright pink Pillow Pets sponsor wrap. Bayne passed out Pillow Pets in the media center and then answered a few racing questions Friday.

TREVOR BAYNE, No. 6 Pillow Pets Ford Mustang –  IS YOUR CAR FAST THIS WEEKEND? “I didn’t know a rainbow bear could go so fast around a race track. Our Pillow Pets Mustang is really fast this weekend so far. I got more laps than the Nationwide guys outside of the guys that have run Cup before. I think that is a big benefit for us this weekend. We had a good run with the Pillow Pets Mustang in Charlotte, finishing sixth, and we are looking to improve on that this weekend at Indy. Mike Kelley and those guys have built me my first new car for the whole season and it is really fast. We are looking forward to getting the race started and looking forward to qualifying tomorrow. I think qualifying is very important here for track position. We are going to work on that and see if we can get a good start and finish it off well.”

WHAT KIND OF ATTENTION DO YOU GET AT THE RACE TRACK IN THIS PAINT SCHEME? “Well, you can’t miss me, that is for sure. We are driving around in the brightest car out there. Travis (Pastrana) tried to go for that earlier this season but I think we have him beat now. His pink isn’t as bright as ours. It is exciting to have a company like Pillow Pets on our race car. The kids love it. The coolest thing about this partner this year is how they have marketed and gone out into the communities where we race at. At Charlotte we gave a couple thousand Pillow Pets to military members and their families and tonight we get to go to a minor league baseball game. I have to throw out the first pitch, so I am nervous about that. I thought after Fenway Park that I would be one and done on first pitches but I get to do it one more time and I am a little nervous about that, we will see what I can do.”
