RICHARD PETTY IS COMING TO THE CANADIAN MOTORSPORTS EXPO

Pinty’s Delicious Foods to present the seven-time NASCAR champion’s appearance on Sunday, February 9th

(TORONTO, ON // JANUARY 30, 2014) Over the years, the Canadian Motorsports Expo Powered by Inside Track Motorsport Newshas played host to some of the most famous names in motorsport. That tradition continues on Sunday, February 9th when NASCAR’s all-time winningest driver, Richard Petty, takes to the CME Stage courtesy of Pinty’s Delicious Foods.

Known simply as ‘The King,’ Petty is one of two, seven-time champions of NASCAR’s top-tier Sprint Cup Series (the other is the late Dale Earnhardt Sr.). Petty’s 200 career victories and his seven wins in the sport’s biggest race – the Daytona 500 – are records that will likely never be surpassed.

The Canadian Motorsports Expo takes place February 7, 8 & 9 in Hall 5 of Toronto’s International Centre.

In addition to being respected for his on-track successes, Petty is also beloved by racing fans everywhere for his contributions to growing NASCAR into what it is today. In 2010, Petty was honoured as one of the inaugural inductees into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. As head of Richard Petty Motorsports, The King is still one of the sport’s most prominent and respected personalities.

“I’m looking forward to coming to Toronto and meeting a bunch of racing fans at the Canadian Motorsports Expo,” said Richard Petty. “Some of them will know that I took part in my first career NASCAR Grand National race, back in 1958, at the Canadian National Exhibition track. We’re gonna chat with the fans, tell some stories and sign some autographs. We’ll see everyone on Sunday, February 9th at the Canadian Motorsports Expo.”

Speaking on behalf of the CME, David Weber said, “Bringing Mr. Petty to the CME – to meet with Canadian racing fans – it doesn’t get much better than that. This literally couldn’t have happened without the support of Anthony Spiteri and Pinty’s Delicious Foods. NASCAR fans already know that Pinty’s is a great supporter of Canadian motorsports. But they really stepped up when we were looking for a partner to help us bring The King to the CME. If you’re a Canadian racing fan and you get to see, meet, or get an autograph from Mr. Petty at the CME, thank Pinty’s by buying some of their wings when you see them at your grocery store.”

Commenting on Richard Petty’s upcoming appearance at the CME, Pinty’s Vice President, Anthony Spiteri said, “We are proud of Pinty’s status as the Official Wingman of NASCAR in Canada. NASCAR fans are all about close racing, great food and having fun with their families and friends. Based on what the crew at the CME, Richard Petty Motorsports and Pinty’s have planned, the meet and greet with the King will be a memory of a lifetime. As fellow race fans, Pinty’s is thrilled to present Richard Petty, The King’sappearance at the Canadian Motorsports Expo.”
