June 6, 2014

Ready for Texas…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) is back in action this weekend in Fort Worth, Texas for the WinStar World Casino & Resort 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Four-Time NCWTS champion Ron Hornaday Jr. will make his 23rd-career start at the 1.5-mile oval as he looks to capture his fourth-career win in the Lone Star State. In his previous 22 starts at Texas, Hornaday has scored three wins, seven top fives, 12 top 10s and led 681 laps, with an average finish of 12.4.

Welcome Ruud…Ruud is on board the No. 30 for the first time in 2014. The Ruud brand has been an innovative, high-quality brand that has been a trusted, reliable performer for over 100 years.  Ruud is proud to associate its winning legacy with four-time NASCAR Champion Ron Hornaday, whose record of leadership and durability as a driver for 17 years is only surpassed by a lifetime of fellowship and countless contributions to community.

This Week’s Silverado…The No. 30 Ruud team will unload chassis TSM-220 for this weekend’s race at Texas. TSM-220 was last on track in May of this year at Kansas Speedway where Hornaday brought home an eighth-place finish. TSM-220 was also on track at Texas Motor Speedway a year ago when Jeb Burton was able to take it to victory lane in his first-career win.

Watch and Listen…The WinStar World Casino & Resort 400 can be seen live on Friday, June 6 on FOX Sports 1. Race coverage begins at 8:30 p.m. EDT, and the event can also be heard live on PRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Radio, Channel 90.

Previous Race Recap…Hornaday began the Lucas Oil 200 in the eighth position, and as the race began, the NCWTS veteran quickly settled into the top 15. When the field made their first pitstop, Hornaday was scored in the 16th position. After the changes were made to Hornaday’s truck, he was able to work his way up to the 12th spot. Hornaday survived a string of cautions as the race continued, ultimately finishing the race in the 11th position.

Ron Hornaday Jr. on Racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“Texas is one of my favorite race tracks on the schedule. We’ve been fortunate enough to have a lot of success at this track in the past and I always like seeing Texas come up on the schedule. We had a decent run at Dover last weekend, but I’d like to get this No. 30 Ruud truck and everyone at Turner Scott Motorsports to victory lane. I think we have a great chance of accomplishing that this weekend.”

Ben Kennedy
No. 31 Turner Scott Motorsports Silverado
Texas Motor Speedway – WinStar World Casino & Resort 400
June 6, 2014

Lone Star Standalone…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) heads to Fort Worth, Texas where the trucks will take center stage for the WinStar World Casino & Resort 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. The Rookie of the Year contender will be making his first-career start at the intermediate track. Kennedy’s best start and finish at a 1.5-mile track came earlier this season at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he started sixth and brought home an eighth-place finish.

Howdy Partner…If you’re attending this weekend’s race in Texas, be sure to stop by the NCWTS autograph session to meet Kennedy and 20 other Truck Series drivers. The session will take place on Friday, June 6 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. local time.

This Week’s Silverado…Kennedy and the No. 31 Turner Scott Motorsports crew will utilize chassis TSM-601 this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. TSM-601 was most recently run by Kennedy at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he earned an eighth-place finish.

Watch and Listen…The WinStar World Resort & Casino 400 can be seen live on Friday, June 6 on FOX Sports 1. Race coverage will begin at 8:30 p.m. EDT, and the event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Radio, channel 90.

Previous Race Recap…In his first-ever NCWTS race at Dover International Speedway, Kennedy showed that persistence and experience could pay dividends at a track as challenging as the Monster Mile. Kennedy, who came into the Lucas Oil 200 with three NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races in Dover under his belt, faced challenging and changing track conditions. However, the No. 31 Click It Or Ticket Chevrolet team battled the changing track, ultimately scoring a seventh-place finish in the 200-lap event.

Ben Kennedy on Texas Motor Speedway

“I can’t wait to get to Texas; so much can be said for racing every week and getting into the groove of back-to-back races, especially when you’re coming off of a good run. We’ve been really strong these last two races, and we’re bringing the same truck we brought to Charlotte and got a top-10 finish with, so I think we’ve got a great chance of making this another great race. Everybody wants a chance to take home the cowboy hat and six-shooters.”

Tayler Malsam
No. 32 Outerwall Silverado
Texas Motor Speedway – WinStar World Casino & Resort 400
June 6, 2014

Friday Night Lights…Making his third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start of the season with Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM), Tayler Malsam hopes that his experience at Texas Motor Speedway, along with crew chief Mike Hillman Jr.’s previous victory at the 1.5-mile track, will put the No. 32 Outerwall Chevrolet one step ahead of the rest of the field in Friday night’s race. Following a tough run at Charlotte Motor Speedway three weeks ago, Malsam is on a mission for redemption this weekend at the No Limits track.

This Week’s Silverado…As the winning crew chief of last year’s event, Mike Hillman Jr. and the No. 32 TSM team will unload a familiar chassis this weekend in the Lone Star State. TSM-602 helped Malsam score a top-five finish in his return to the NCWTS this year at Kansas Speedway and was well known on the NCWTS circuit last year, having claimed two pole awards along with two top-10 finishes in just four starts.

Let’s Go…This week at Texas Motor Speedway, the No. 32 will be sporting the colors of Outerwall for the third of 12 races this year. As the company that brought consumers Redbox® entertainment, Coinstar® money services, and ecoATM® electronics recycling kiosks, Outerwall is leading the next generation of automated retail. With more than 20 years of experience, the company mission is to create a better everyday by delivering breakthrough kiosk experiences that delight consumers and generate revenue for retailers.

Previous Race Recap…The last time Malsam was behind the wheel of the No. 32 Outerwall Chevy was at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he and his TSM team had their night cut short when two competitors made contact, sending the No. 32 truck into the inside retaining wall where it suffered severe damage. The TSM team worked quickly to make essential repairs to the rear of the truck and sent Malsam back out to make three laps under caution before being relegated to a 25th-place finish.

Watch and Listen…Don’t miss any of the action as the NCWTS heads to the Lone Star State. The WinStar World Casino & Resort 400K can be seen live on Friday, June 6 beginning at 8:30 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1. The race can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Tayler Malsam on Racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“I’m really excited to race the No. 32 truck again this weekend in Texas. We got involved in a pretty big mess last time I was behind the wheel in Charlotte, so I’m definitely ready to come back with a vengeance this time around. I have a lot of confidence in Mike Hillman Jr. at this track, and I think we’ve got what it takes to be up front at the end of the night. I know this Turner Scott Motorsports team has worked hard to get our truck in perfect condition for this weekend. I’d like nothing more than to get Hillman and TSM a back-to-back win in this event.”
