ADVANCE NOTES

Bayne at Chicago

·         Trevor Bayne makes his seventh NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday evening. In six previous starts at the 1.5-mile oval, Bayne has recorded one top-five and two top-10 finishes.

·         In the past 12 NNS races held at Chicago, Bayne ranks second in quality passes with an average of 37.5 passes per race. The driver of the No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang also ranks fifth in laps in the top 15 (1,091), seventh in green flag passes (287) and eighth in average running position (10.56) according to NASCAR’s loop data statistics.

·         Bayne earned his best finish of third at Chicagoland Speedway in the June 2011 event at the 1.5-mile oval after starting from the 31st position.

·         In 37 career starts on 1.5-mile tracks in the NNS, Bayne has recorded one win, eight top-five and 16 top-10 finishes, with an average finish of 11.46.

The Car

·         Crew chief Chad Norris brings chassis RK-849 to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. This chassis previously raced on the 1.5-mile ovals of Texas Motor Speedway and Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway earlier this season, earning finishes of 23rd and eighth, respectively.

Recapping New Hampshire

·         Bayne started the 200-mile event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway from the eighth position, but suffered a cut left-rear tire following contact on just the third lap. After losing a lap making repairs, the driver of No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang earned the free pass to get back on the lead lap following the second caution period of the afternoon. Once on the lead lap, Bayne charged forward, making his way into the top 10 before sustaining damage to the front-end following a Lap 106 incident. After pitting for repairs, Bayne raced his way back into the top 10 and maintained his track position for the remainder of the race, coming home with a ninth-place finish.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing at Chicago:

“Chicago is a great track. It has a lot of characteristics that differentiates itself from the other 1.5-mile tracks we race on. It’s a multi-grooved track that lets you race from the top line all the way down to the bottom. I’m really excited to be heading back there this weekend and I know that Chad (Norris) and the guys will give me a great No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang that will contend for the win come Saturday night.”

Crew Chief Chad Norris on Chicago:

“I’m excited about heading to Chicago this weekend with our No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang. Trevor has had some strong runs there in the past and all our guys are excited to get back to the track after last weekend’s race in New Hampshire. I’m confident that we will give Trevor everything he needs this weekend and put this No.6 team back in Victory Lane.”
