LEXINGTON, Ohio (August 17, 2014) -The NASCAR Nationwide Series made its third and final road-course stop of the 2014 season this weekend at the famed 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200. Dylan Kwasniewski and his No. 42 up & up™ by Target team looked for a solid road-course finish after bad luck halted their strong run last weekend at Watkins Glen. Kwasniewski started the weekend off strong by making it to the final round of knockout qualifying, placing the up & up Chevy 12th on the starting grid. After running consistent lap times, and staying in the top 10 for the majority of the race, Kwasniewski crossed the finish line in the eighth position, tying his season-best finish.

Following the drop of the green flag at Mid-Ohio, Kwasniewski and the rest of the field quickly jockeyed for position as they headed to the “Keyhole” and Turn 2 at Mid-Ohio. After losing two spots on the first lap, Kwasniewski quickly recovered and was scored in the 13th position when the first full-course caution came out on lap five. Deciding it was too early in the race to stop, crew chief Scott Zipadelli decided to keep Kwasniewski on the track, restarting 13th on lap nine. After the restart, Kwasniewski continued to run consistent lap times, working his way up to seventh before making his first green-flag pit stop on lap 29. During the stop, Zipadelli called Kwasniewski down pit road for four tires and two cans of Sunoco Racing Fuel. As the 42 team was completing its pit stop, the second caution of the day came out. Restarting in ninth on Lap 33, Kwasniewski continued his steady pace inside the top 10 until making his final green-flag pit stop on lap 59 while running in the 11th position. During the stop, Kwasniewski received four new tires and fuel. Kwasniewski survived one late-race caution and continued to run consistent lap times, bringing the up & up by Target Chevy home in the eighth position

Dylan Kwasniewski on Racing at Mid-Ohio:
“Today was a solid day for this up & up by Target team. We were fast off the truck on Friday in practice and we carried it over into the race today. Scott [Zipadelli] and the guys worked really hard, and I can’t thank them enough for their effort. We had our Nationwide Children’s Hospital Patient Champion Reid Zupanc on the car and on the pit box today, so I am glad we were able to come home with a top-10 finish for him. Hopefully we can build on this and carry our momentum into Bristol next Friday night under the lights.”
