ADVANCE NOTES

Sadler at Bristol Motor Speedway

Elliott Sadler will make his 17th NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) start at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) this Saturday afternoon in Bristol, TN. In Sadler’s previous 16 starts, he has two wins, one pole award, five top-five and seven top-10 finishes at BMS. Sadler has also led 199 laps at BMS in the NXS.

Bristol is a special place for Sadler. In 2001, Sadler won his first career NASCR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race. To this day, Sadler still holds the record for winning the race from the worst qualifying position. Besides winning at BMS in 2001, the veteran driver also has one pole award, three top-five and four top-10 finishes in his previous 25 NSCS starts.

Last Week’s Race

Sadler finished in 11th -place during Friday night’s NXS race at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). Sadler qualified in the 13th position for the scheduled 200 lap event. By lap 50, Sadler worked his way into the top-10. With fast pit stops and great mid-race adjustments, Sadler made his way up to the eighth position. In the closing laps, Sadler battled back and forth and crossed the finish line in the 11th position.

2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series Driver Point Standings

Following TMS, Sadler moved up one position in the NXS Driver Point Standings. After six races, Sadler is now in the seventh position and is 38 points behind the leader.

This Race Last Year

Sadler started this race last year from the 18th position. The team battled back and forth all race long and could not find the happy medium to match the track conditions. Sadler ran the majority of the race in the middle of pack and crossed the finish line in the 17th position.

Race Coverage

TV coverage for this week’s NXS race at BMS will be on FOX Sports 1 at 1:30PM ET.

Elliott Sadler’s #1TreewithE Contest

Sadler will bring attention to environmental awareness in the Richmond, VA area this month by launching a special contest for his hometown fans. The ultimate prize is an evening with Sadler at a fan’s house, planting a tree and Sadler will even bring a BBQ dinner. Fans in the Richmond area can enter by sending a message to @Elliott_Sadler saying “Hey @Elliott_Sadler! Come to my house in (Your Town) and plant a tree with me #1TreewithE.” The event will take place on April 23, 2015.

QUOTE WORTHY

“It’s pretty clear to see why Bristol is one of my favorite race tracks. I’ve celebrated in Victory Lane as an XFINITY driver, as well as I won my first career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol. I grew up coming to this track with my family and as a fan it’s one of the most entertaining venues you can attend. Bristol is one of the hardest places to make quality passes at. So our goal this weekend is to qualify the No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang up front, make solid mid-race adjustments on pit road and if all that goes to plan, we’ll have a good shot to grab another win on Saturday afternoon.”
