RHODES 36th IN WINN-DIXIE 300

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Harrison Rhodes, driving the Flex Seal Colors Chevrolet, finished 36th in Saturday’s Winn-Dixie 300, his first race at Talladega Superspeedway.Rhodes started 36th and raced into the 20s but became involved in a 10-car crash in the fourth turn on lap 74. A sour transmission forced him out of the race after 84 laps.

“It was a tough day to make moves out there,” Rhodes said. “We got wrapped up in that first big wreck, and that didn’t help things. Got a lot of laps in, though, and we’ll use the experience to help with the next restrictor-plate race.”

Rhodes, a rookie in the Xfinity Series, dropped one spot to 24th in the series driver standings.

Joey Logano edged Brian Scott to win the race, and Ty Dillon finished eighth to keep the point lead. The series moves on to Iowa Speedway for a May 17 race.
