Homecoming Weekend for Bayne

CONCORD, N.C. (Aug. 18, 2015) – This weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway will be a homecoming for the driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion Trevor Bayne. Bayne, who hails from Knoxville, Tenn., calls the .533-mile short track home.

“I love Bristol,” said Bayne. “I remember going there as a little kid watching races and just dreaming of the day I could compete there. It’s definitely an awesome feeling racing in front of my friends and family.”

For Bayne, Saturday night’s race will be the first time that the Roush Fenway Racing driver has competed in the hallowed night race at Bristol. After finishing 28th in the spring event at the Tennessee track, Bayne knows that he can improve.

“We are ready to hit the track and improve on where we were in the spring,” added Bayne. “I’m just excited to get it going this weekend and see all the flashbulbs in the crowd. The night race is just an electric event and I’m ready to give this AdvoCare Ford all it has.”

The Irwin Tools Night Race is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, Aug. 22 on NBCSN, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Ch. 90).
