Christopher Bell was the leader when the rain and lightning came at lap 249 of the Coke 600, and despite NASCAR’s valiant effort to dry Charlotte Motor Speedway, the race was unable to continue, and Bell was declared the winner.
The caution and red flag came out on lap 245 for rain in the area, as Hemric sat in 18th place. The race was ultimately shortened, and Hemric finished 18th.
William Byron led Chevrolet in the final running order of the rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 – tallying a third-place finish in his No. 24 Liberty University Patriotic Camaro ZL1.
Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) came into Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 with a high degree of optimism after putting all three of its cars in the top eight in Friday’s final practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
