Ryan Truex Returns to XFINITY SERIES Action for Three Races this Season

Will Pilot the No. 98 Biagi DenBeste Ford Mustang

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 2, 2015) – Ryan Truex will make his return to the NASCAR XFINITY Series for three races this season with Richard Petty Motorsports and will pilot the No. 98 Ford Mustang for Biagi DenBeste Racing. Truex will hit the track at Richmond International Raceway for his first XFINITY start of the 2015 season. The Mayetta, N.J. native will also compete at Kentucky Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Truex has a combined 65 starts in NASCAR’s top national touring series. He has 35 XFINITY SERIES starts with one pole, two Top-Five and nine Top-10 finishes with a best effort of second at Dover in 2012. Truex has made four XFINITY Series starts at Richmond, resulting in one Top-Five and two Top-10 finishes.

“I’m very grateful to Biagi DenBeste Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports for the opportunity to get back behind the wheel in the NASCAR XFINITY Series,” says Truex. “I’ve had some time away from racing, and it’s given me a chance to refocus on my career. I feel more driven than ever to perform well and prove that I can race with the best in the sport. I’d like to thank the fans as well. They’ve been really supportive of me on social media, asking when I’ll be back racing again. I’m looking forward to putting on a great show for them.”

This is not the first partnership for Richard Petty Motorsports and Biagi DenBeste Racing. The two teams paired for 11 races this season with drivers Aric Almirola and Sam Hornish Jr. In those 11 races, the No. 98 team scored three Top-10 and eight Top-15 finishes.

“We’re excited to join RPM in giving Ryan (Truex) this opportunity to get back to racing in the XFINITY Series,” said Fred Biagi, Co-Owner of Biagi-DenBeste Racing. “We’ve had fast cars this season and good results with both Aric and Sam; so hopefully, we can do the same with Ryan behind the wheel at Richmond.”

Truex will hit the track for the Virginia529 College Savings 250 at Richmond International Raceway Friday, September 11 at 7:30 pm. ET. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN.
