Chase Elliott Records 400th Win for Chevrolet in NASCAR Xfinity Series Competition
RICHMOND, Va. – (September 11, 2015) – With his win of the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 at Richmond International Raceway, Chase Elliott in his No. 9 Napa Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro captured the 400th all-time victory for Chevrolet in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition. This unprecedented win secured yet another historical landmark for Chevrolet as the most successful manufacturer in NASCAR history. In addition to reaching this unequaled 400th race win triumph for the brand; Elliott brought his Camaro to Victory Lane for the 27th time in the nameplate’s history. This win was the defending NASCAR Xfinity Series champion’s fourth career series victory.

Chevrolet’s rich heritage in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition began when Tommy Houston took the checkered at Hickory Motor Speedway on August 1, 2015 in his Chevy Malibu. Thirty-three years later the ‘Bowtie Brand’ has continued to set the mark.

300th WIN: 6/03/06 – Jeff Burton – Dover International Speedway, Dover, DE
400th WIN: 9/11/15 – Chase Elliott – Richmond International Raceway, Richmond, VA
Elliott led the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 five different times for a total of 83 of the 250-lap contest. He was able to hold off a hard-charging Kyle Busch on the final restart of the race with less than 30 laps remaining, to take the checkered flag and bring home his fourth career NASCAR Xfinity series victory and first of the 2015 season. Elliott currently sits second in the point standings, a mere 21 markers behind current points leader Chris Buescher with eight races remaining this season.
“We have had a couple of chances [to win] and things just didn’t go our way,” said Elliott in Victory Lane. “These guys right here won the race tonight – phenomenal pit stops. I can’t thank Napa Auto Parts enough; plus, Hendrick engines and Chevrolet. This is Chevrolet’s 400th Xfinity win, so this is amazing.”
Chevrolet’s accolades in NASCAR racing are vast. To date, the manufacturer has earned 18 Driver’s titles and 16 Manufacturer’s championships as a result of its 400 victories in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. No manufacturer has powered more drivers and teams to victory lane or championships in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series than Chevrolet.
