SELF READY TO ROLL AT KENTUCKY

SPARTA, Ky. – Michael Self returns to the cockpit of the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 01 Chevrolet this week for the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

Self, racing for the sixth time for the JDM team, will be driving with sponsorship from U Drive, U Text, U Pay Saturday.

“I’m really excited to get back behind the wheel of the No. 01 car for JD Motorsports this weekend at Kentucky,” Self said. “Last weekend was all about practice on the 1.5-mile Chicagoland, and we accomplished our goal, which was making laps and learning, so I’m looking forward to carrying that experience back to the primary car this weekend.

“I feel like I’ve built a strong relationship with Wayne (crew chief Wayne Setterington) and the guys, so it’s a comfortable situation going in, and hopefully we can continue to progress and grow as a team. We’ve got a great message on board this weekend with the U Drive, U Text, U Pay slogan, reminding people of the dangers of texting and driving, which I’m proud to represent.”

The race will be Self’s first at the track.

Practice is scheduled at 3:30 and 6 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying is set for 4:45 p.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 8 p.m.
