Clint Bowyer No. 15 Maxwell House Toyota Martinsville II Preview

The Boys in Blue

CORNELIUS, N.C. — The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to Martinsville Speedway this weekend. Clint Bowyer and his No. 15 Maxwell House Toyota crew will be outfitted in the coffee maker’s traditional blue.

Making their second consecutive trip to the Fall Classic, Bowyer has kept an eye on the team during their post-season run and hopes their success continues during the series.

Bowyer also hopes his success at the .526–mile Virginia track continues. The paperclip-shaped oval, the smallest on the circuit, is one of Bowyer’s favorites. Seven of his last nine starts resulted in top-10 finishes and he owns 12 top-10 results in19 starts.

And while Bowyer hopes his baseball “boys in blue” continue their drive in the Fall Classic, he also hopes his Maxwell House “boys in blue” pull off a Fall classic and drive their way to victory lane this weekend at Martinsville.

What does it take to get around Martinsville?
“I love Martinsville. It’s such a great track. It can be a different animal from practice to the race. You really have to stay on top of it throughout the weekend. You’ve got to be able to get up off of the corners but you have to be careful that you aren’t too free during practice because it’s only going to get worse during the race. It’s a balancing act but if you get it right, it pays off on race day. But all-in-all a great race track and a fun race track for all the fans as well as the drivers.”
