Ford Performance NASCAR: Keselowski Third-Fastest in Happy Hour Practice

Ford Performance NSCS Notes and Quotes
Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 Advance – Martinsville Speedway
Saturday, October 31, 2015

Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 2 Alliance Truck Parts Ford Fusion, was third in Happy Hour practice and will start 11th in tomorrow’s Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500.

BRAD KESELOWSKI – No. 2 Alliance Truck Parts Ford Fusion – HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR CAR IN RACE CONDITIONS?  “I don’t know.  It’s practice and not racing and it’s a big difference.  This practice session is always really hard to get a great read for what your car is gonna be in the race.  You’ve got cars coming in and out and the track always has those marbles at the end.  It’s just really, really tough to get a read for what you’re gonna have come race time, but it’s still fun to be fast.  The No. 2 Alliance Truck Parts Ford was fast today and it’s been fast this weekend.  We had a little hiccup in qualifying and we’ll have to overcome that, but when you’re fast and you’ve got a long race like you have here at Martinsville you can do that.”

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CARRY MOMENTUM FROM LAST WEEK TO TOMORROW EVEN THOUGH EVERYTHING RESETS?  “I guess maybe I look at it as the complete opposite.  I almost look at this bracket as starting the season over.  There’s no bonus points.  Everybody is at zero and these tracks are so much different than the last tracks we were at.  There is no Talladega and there are two short tracks in this one, where we haven’t really been to a short track – maybe with the argument of Loudon – yet.  And that one track was our best-running track, where we led laps and did all those things.  I feel really good about this bracket.  I want to be a little faster on the mile-and-a-halves for sure, but Martinsville has been a good track for us here, and so has Phoenix, and Texas historically has been good for us, so we know we can find the speed that we need to run up front there and make it to the next round and hopefully win races along the way.”
