NEWTON, Iowa – MAY 16, 2011 – Iowa pork producers in Tama and Washington counties are teaming up with South Dakota Pork Producers to sponsor the Pork Be Inspired 175 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East/West Challenge Presented by Tompkins Industries. The race, scheduled for Saturday, May 21, marks the official start to the 2011 racing season at Iowa Speedway.
“We knew this Iowa Speedway racing sponsorship was a great opportunity to promote our new advertising slogan ‘Pork Be Inspired’,” says Tama County Pork Producer Grilling Chairman, Dennis Gienger. “We were able to put this pork promotion together thanks to three large Iowa packers.”
Racing fans love to tailgate at Iowa Speedway, and nothing compliments a day at the track like a pork chop on the grill.
“We’re proud that Tama County, Washington County and South Dakota Pork Producers selected our venue to showcase their products,” says Iowa Speedway’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing Chuck Spicer. “We hope racing fans will ‘Be Inspired’ to include pork in their tailgating menus.”
The Pork Be Inspired 175 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East/West Challenge presented by Tompkins Industries begins at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. Fans are invited to stick around after the race for the opening act of the 2011 Kum & Go Concert Series presented by Venom Energy Drink. Country artist Randy Houser will perform on the Grinnell Mutual Concert Stage immediately following the Pizza Ranch Victory Lane celebration and fireworks display.
