Julie Roberts to Perform Post-Race All-Star Concert, Fans Can Walk on Frontstretch

Post-Race All-Star Concert Keeps the Party Going, Julie Roberts to Perform and Fans Can Walk on Frontstretch

CONCORD, N.C. (May 17, 2011) – The ultimate NASCAR party won’t stop when the checkered flag flies on May 21 as Charlotte Motor Speedway will treat fans to a post-race concert on the frontstretch grass following the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.

Country music star Julie Roberts will perform a 30-minute concert for fans where she will debut her new song “NASCAR Party.” Charlotte Motor Speedway will also debut the music video for “NASCAR Party” on the world’s largest high definition television. Roberts is a native of Lancaster, S.C. She began performing country music as a child and spent her high school years playing festivals in North and South Carolina and Georgia. She was signed to Mercury Nashville Records in 2004 and her debut single “Break Down Here” was a top-20 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Roberts is currently working on her third studio record.

After the race is complete and the track is secure, fans will be instructed to enter the concert area through the wheel fence and at Gate 8. Fans will get the opportunity to walk down from the grandstands onto the speedway’s frontstretch and join the celebration where one of NASCAR’s best drivers just won $1 million with his victory in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.

“I didn’t think we could pack any more special events for our fans into the schedule on Saturday but we did with this post-race concert,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “For the price of one ticket, on May 21 fans can enjoy the Dierks Bently pre-race concert in the infield, the Pennzoil Ultra Victory Challenge burnout contest, the Sprint Showdown, the debut of the world’s largest HDTV, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race and the post-race concert with the chance to walk on the frontstretch. That’s the most entertainment value race fans and music lovers will find anywhere.”

Tickets for all May races at Charlotte Motor Speedway can be purchased online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or by calling the speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267).
