ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse at Pocono Raceway

Stenhouse has six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Pocono Raceway with an average starting position of 22.5 and average finishing position of 29.3.

In his first career start at the ‘Tricky Triangle’, Stenhouse Jr. won the ARCA race in 2008.

Last time at Pocono

After starting in the 34th position, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. gained seven positions in the first 15 laps before the No. 9 machine slowed in the high groove leaving Stenhouse Jr. nowhere to go. The damage on his Ford was irreparable leaving Stenhouse Jr. with a 41st-place finish in Sunday’s NSCS race.

SunnyD

Roush Fenway Racing has added a NASCAR twist to a 90’s commercial classic, remaking the iconic ‘purple stuff’ SunnyD TV commercial with a unique NASCAR flavor. The remake stars NASCAR champions Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Chris Buescher, along with FOX NASCAR personalities Andrew Doud and Kaitlyn Vincie. Vincie plays the part of ‘Misses V’ – an unforgettably cheerful lady with a great smile and seemingly endless supply of Sunny D – while Doud delivers the unforgettable classic line “Mega gnarly Misses V.”

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Pocono:

“We didn’t have the best of luck at Pocono last year so hopefully we can rebound this year. Pocono is a unique track because all three corners are distinct. We have SunnyD back on our Ford which is a fan favorite. Fuel mileage usually comes into play so hopefully we can keep our SunnyD Ford clean and be there at the end.”

Nick Sandler on racing at Pocono:

“I always look forward to racing at Pocono because it is challenging. All three turns are unique and affect your car differently so you want to have a good balance. In the past, the race had long green flags run and fuel mileage became a factor. Track position is crucial so we will try to keep our SunnyD Ford up near the front and hopefully leave Pocono with a solid finish.”
