CHASTAIN STRONG AT IOWA

NEWTON, Iowa – Ross Chastain is always happy to return to the .875-mile racetrack at Iowa Speedway.

Chastain’s history at the track bodes well for his performance in Sunday’s American Ethanol E15 250 Xfinity Series race.

Chastain has raced in both the Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series at Iowa and has scored high finishes on both circuits. In 2013, he finished second at Iowa in a Truck race, and last year he was 10th in a JD Motorsports Chevrolet in the Xfinity Series.

The 10th-place run tied for Chastain’s second best finish last season.

“Obviously, I like running at Iowa,” Chastain said. “It’s been one of my best tracks. It’s sort of a combination of a short track and a fast speedway, and I like that.”

In a rare Sunday race for the series, Chastain will drive the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 4 Chevrolet in the 218-miler. He sits 13th in Xfinity driver points.

Practice is scheduled at 4:30 and 7 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying is set for 6:45 p.m. Saturday, and the race will get the green flag at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
