PREECE ROLLS ON TO IOWA

NEWTON, Iowa – Ryan Preece raced for the first time at Iowa Speedway in June, but it wasn’t a “full” day of work.

Preece was involved in an accident and dropped out of the race after completing 169 of the 250 laps. He finished 32nd.

Preece returns to the seven-eighths-mile track for Saturday’s U.S. Cellular 250 in the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 01 Chevrolet.

“We didn’t get to show what the car could do in June,” Preece said. “A good car but not a good finish. We’re coming back for more this time.”

Preece is 18th in Xfinity driver points entering the race.

Practice is scheduled at the track at 5 p.m. (ET) and 7 p.m. Friday. Qualifying is set for 4:15 p.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 8 p.m.
