Bryan Silas Built Tough Heading Back To Kansas Speedway

KANSAS CITY, Kansas (June 1, 2011) – – Fresh off of a commendable 19th place finish in the most recent NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) contest at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, Bryan Silas will return to the series for a second straight race looking to strengthen his presence on the track in Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway.

The Stuart, Florida native will return to the seat of the No. 99 CollegeComplete.com Ford F-150 for Chase Mattioli Racing aiming for his 15th career start and second at the 1.5-mile oval.

Now, armed in the hands of friend and crew chief Cal Boprey, Silas has a firm agenda heading into the eighth race of the season and it involves taking his blue oval to the front.

For most of his racing career, Silas, 23 has been a member of the Ford Racing family and while the manufacturer has had great success in NASCAR’s third-tier series, its familiar icon has been missing at the front of the pack thus far in 2011. However, Silas and his crew are hoping to change that when the green flag drops this weekend.

“Ford has been very good to me and my racing career,” said Silas, who in addition to running in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is also competing in the ARCA Racing Series and USARacing Pro Cup Series.

“I think we proved a lot at Charlotte. We were able to come from the back and find ourselves racing competitively in the top-20 when the checkered flag flew. The run gave the team some much needed momentum heading to Kansas Speedway this weekend. Not only are we looking forward to having a good run for CollegeComplete.com, but it also would be amazing to put our Ford F-150 in the lead pack and mount a solid finish for them too.”

The O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 is set for Saturday, June 4 and will air live on SPEED beginning at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. The race will also be broadcasted through the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (satellite channel 90).
