SMITHLEY READY FOR THE DESERT

AVONDALE, Ariz. – Garrett Smithley hopes to improve on his finish in Phoenix International Raceway’s spring Xfinity Series race in Saturday’s Ticket Galaxy 200.

Smithley finished 31st in PIR’s first Xfinity race of the year.

“We’re bringing a good car to Phoenix,” Smithley said. “We’re definitely looking for better results this go-round. The track is smooth and fast – a really fun track to race.”

Smithley will drive the ETC Custom Truck Accessories Chevrolet Saturday.

Practice is scheduled at 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. Friday. Qualifying is set for 4:15 p.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 7:30.
