Johnny VanDoorn Prepared To Put Period To Bad Luck At LOR

COOPERSVILLE, Michigan (June 9, 2011) – – Any champion would tell you that there is a point in their career where they will suffer some bad luck. For Johnny VanDoorn, he’s experienced his fair share of misfortune thus far in 2011 to comprise the remainder of the Champion Racing Association (CRA) season.

The Coopersville, Michigan native though will look to shake the monkey off his back and put his Kaos Motorsports team in contention for Sunday’s Seal Wrap 100 at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.

Giving VanDoorn some much needed confidence heading into the weekend will be the refreshment of victory two weeks ago at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway where VanDoorn returned to the cockpit for some Late Model racing and notched his first triumph of the year.

“I’m ready to shake the bad luck and get our season back on track,” offered VanDoorn driver of the No. 61 Paragon Corvette Reproductions / Baker Engineering / JEGS.com Chevrolet. “Sometimes in racing you can’t explain the bad luck. It’s just been one of those years so far, but we’re not giving up by any means. We’re going to Lucas Oil Raceway to show that we mean business.”

The former CRA Rookie of the Year added, “I have to thank everyone on the Kaos Motorsports team for continuing to give 150 percent every day at the shop. We will bounce through these holes and find ourselves where we belong. We also cannot begin to appreciate the support of our sponsors. They have stood behind me and this team despite the bumpy road we’ve had. Hopefully we can turn it around for them and us on Sunday afternoon.”

JVD and Co. continue to be appreciative to have the support of Baker Engineering, Earth Service and Supply, Jegs.com, Magic Transportation, Paragon Corvette Reproductions, Port City Racecars and R and R Wire Loom as sponsors on their Chevrolet bowtie.

The Seal Wrap 100 is set for this Sunday, June 12, 2011. Racing kicks off at 2:30 p.m. with the CRA Super Series feature set to be the third of four racing battles of the day.

In 66 races, VanDoorn has posted six poles, eight wins, 25 top-fives and 47 top-10 finishes including back-to-back CRA championships in 2009 and 2010.
