Turner Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier joins Reed Sorenson in iconic yellow and black colors for the upcoming NASCAR Nationwide Series Race
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 18, 2011) – Turner Motorsports is pleased to announce that the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) powerhouse will field two Dollar General Chevys this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway in the Federated Auto Parts 300. Reed Sorenson, currently second in the NNS point standings, will pilot the flagship No. 32 Dollar General Chevy while teammate Justin Allgaier will be in a second, No. 31 Dollar General Chevy.
“I’m really excited to represent the Dollar General brand this weekend,” said Allgaier. “Dollar General has been a staple in the Nationwide Series garage and to drive their black and yellow colors is an honor. We would love to get a win for them at their home track as well. Nashville has always been a good race track for me so we are looking forward to a great weekend.”
The Turner Motorsports teammates have racked up impressive stats at the 1.333-mile track through their respective careers. In 12 starts (five for Allgaier, seven for Sorenson), the pair has notched one win, five top-five and seven top-10 finishes, along with two pole awards. Sorenson scored his first series win at Nashville Superspeedway in 2005 after starting from the pole and leading 197 laps.
“I think it’s a great opportunity for us as a team to have two Dollar General cars this weekend at Nashville,” Sorenson said. “It will double our chances to get a third win for Dollar General this season and nothing would be better than to do that in their hometown of Nashville. I know both Justin (Allgaier) and I have some great stats at the track so I really like our chances for a good weekend.”
