No. 32 Dollar General Chevrolet News and Notes
* Seeing Double with Dollar General at Nashville- This weekend Turner Motorsports will field two Dollar General Chevys at Nashville Superspeedway. Reed Sorenson will pilot the flagship No. 32 and teammate Justin Allgaier will be in a second, No. 31 Dollar General Chevy. The two cars will differ only in number and roof number color. Additionally, James Buescher will pilot a No. 31 Dollar General Chevy in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race from the Turner Motorsports stable.
* Sorenson at Nashville Superspeedway -Sorenson continues to build his portfolio at the 1.333-mile superspeedway with one win, three top-five and five top-10 finishes, along with one pole award in seven starts. Sorenson scored his first series win at Nashville after starting from the pole and leading 197 laps back in 2005. At this season’s spring Nashville race, Sorenson finished eighth after starting 13th.
* Sorenson to Visit Children’s Hospital- On Thursday, Sorenson is scheduled to visit Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt to spend time with patients and their families. Dollar General has a long-standing relationship with the hospital, which treats the region’s sickest patients.
* Home Field Advantage -The Nashville Superspeedway race is considered home turf for Turner Motorsports sponsor, Dollar General. * Happy Birthday Rick Dreiling – Dollar General Chairman & CEO, Rick Dreiling will celebrate a birthday this Sunday, July 24. To honor his birthday, the team has something special planned for him on Saturday prior to the Nationwide Series race.
* This Week’s Impala – This weekend, Sorenson will pilot TMS-309 in the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. This is a brand new chassis from the Turner Motorsports stable.
Sorenson on returning to Nashville:
“I always look forward to returning to Nashville. It is a special place for me. Nashville is the spot of my first Nationwide Series win and it is home to Dollar General’s headquarters. I’m excited to come in and visit the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in downtown Nashville on Thursday and then get down to business at the track on Friday and Saturday. It’s a great opportunity for our team to have two Dollar General cars on the track this weekend because it obviously doubles our chances to bring DG a win.
