NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 18 of 25 – Chicagoland Speedway
A FIRST FOR HARVICK: Kevin HarvickInc. (KHI) co-owner Kevin Harvick will climb into the driver’s seat of the No. 2 Bad Boy Buggies Chevrolet Silverado as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series makes their way to Chicagoland Speedway this Friday. This race will be Harvick’s first Truck Series appearance at the 1.5-mile facility, but the veteran driver is no stranger to racing in the Windy City. Harvick has made 10 starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and nine NASCAR Nationwide Series starts, collecting a total one pole, four wins, nine top-five and 11 top-10 finishes between both series. The driver has also been credited with leading a combined total of 377 laps at the D-shaped oval.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 crew has prepared chassis No. 059 for this Friday night’s Truck Series race in Chicago. This chassis has been utilized in competition five times thus far this season and has visited victory lane three times (Kansas Speedway, Pocono Raceway and Michigan International Speedway). Bowyer, Harvick and Elliott Sadler have all raced this chassis during the 2011 season collecting one pole, three wins, four top-five and five top-10 finishes.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Clint Bowyer joined the No. 2 Bad Boy Buggies team as the Truck Series traveled to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Good Sam Club 200 on September 2. In his third Truck Series appearance of the season with the KHI team, the Emporia, Kan., native started the event from the outside pole and led the most laps (97) before finishing in the second position. Bowyer’s solid run allowed the No. 2 entry to maintain its first-place position in the Truck Series Owner’s Points standings.
HARVICK’S THOUGHTS ON CHICAGO:
What are your thoughts heading into the race at Chicagoland Speedway?
“I really like racing at Chicago and for whatever reason, this track just seems to fit my driving style. Chicago has little quirks that make it fun to drive. It has a crooked back straightaway. You get so used to going down the back straightaway and just kind of hanging against the wall, but if you do that at Chicago you’re usually you’re going to hit the wall right after you get about three-quarters of the way down the straightaway because it curves back in, so it brings an element of excitement to the race. We have done well there in the past in the Cup and Nationwide Series, so I’m hoping that momentum carries over into the truck race this Friday.”
