Patience Nets Jason White a Martinsville Top-10 Finish

MARTINSVILLE, VA. (April 2, 2012) – Jason White couldn’t wait to get back behind the wheel of his No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford after nearly winning the season opening race in Daytona.  The excitement will continue after the Virginia native patiently navigated the short track of Martinsville Speedway on his way to a 10th place finish in the running of the Kroger 250.

White started the 250-lap scheduled event from the 22nd position and used the first half of the race being patient and saving his No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford.  An unfortunate occurrence on pit road had White put down one lap to the leaders but he was able to get the wave around and back on the lead lap late in the event.  Jason would restart in the 20th position and worked his way through the field in the closing laps to finish with his second straight top-10 finish.

“It feels good to come out of here with a top-10 finish,” stated Jason White. “The guys on this team did a great job once again of giving me a fast truck.  Our GunBroker.com truck was really strong in race trim but for some reason just not as strong in qualifying trim.  So we ended up starting back a little further than we wanted but the truck was strong and we took our time and worked our way through the field. We got down that lap but were able to get it back and make a run to the front.”

Jason sits in the fifth spot in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – a mere eight points out of the lead.  The 10th place finish was his 19th career top-10 finish.

“You never know what you will get at Martinsville so to come home with a good finish is important,” added Jason.  “We are off to a good start to the season and we just need to keep doing what we are doing and put ourselves in a position to run up front each and every race.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will return to action on April 15th at Rockingham Speedway.  The Good Sam Roadside Carolina 200 will mark the return of NASCAR to the track known as “The Rock”.
