GAFFNEY, S.C. (May 22, 2012) – The JD Motorsports team, like almost all the other NASCAR teams this weekend, doesn’t have far to travel to go racing.

With the NASCAR Nationwide Series race being held at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, the No. 01 Restaurant.com team of Mike Wallace and the No. 4 team of Danny Efland are looking for a good showing in front of the hometown crowd in their Chevrolets.

Wallace has more than two dozen starts at the 1.5-mile oval, while Efland will be making his fifth appearance at CMS

Mike Wallace Notes

·         This will be NNS career start 427 for the four-time race winner

·         After 10 races in 2012, the St. Louis native sits 13th in Driver’s Points trailing 12th by just 10 markers

·         Completing 1,804 of 1,943 laps contested gives him a 92.8 percent finishing ration

·         To say he’s experienced at CMS is an understatement with 30 prior starts

·         In that span, he’s achieved three top-10 and 11 top-20 finishes with a best start of eighth in 1993 and finish of ninth in 1996

·         He’s completed 4,807 of 6,008 laps contested and led five races for 31 laps

Watch Wallace Win

There are two practices on Thursday for the NNS with the first taking place from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. Happy Hour goes from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and both can be seen live on SPEED TV. The track is dark of all activity on Friday. Qualifying is 11 a.m. on Saturday with race action starting at 2:30 p.m. and both can be seen on ESPN2 for all 200 laps.

Mike Wallace Quotes: “Yes, this is a big weekend for every one of the teams here in the Charlotte area. Our race shop is just a quick trip down I-85 into South Carolina, but this is still a home race for JD Motorsports.

“We are working harder and harder to get our cars better each week. Newt Moore (crew chief) and the team have been working on our set ups and front end package to get us through the turns better for every race.

“This is a new car for the team, so we’re looking forward to see what we can do with it at Charlotte. The high banks produce high speeds, so you want to be good to go when you come off Turns 2 and 4 at this track down those straightaways.

“Everyone has family and friends in town and we look forward to having them with us at the track this weekend. This team has a great group of guys who work their guts out, but we all want to get a good finish four owner, Johnny Davis, because of all he does for us so we can go race”

Danny Efland Info: This will be his 44th NNS start, and fifth at Charlotte. His best finished at CMS took place last when he crossed under the checkers in 19th place.

The No. 4 car is still looking for qualified drivers for some upcoming races, especially the road courses. Interested parties can contact the JD Motorsports team for further info.
