[media-credit name=”www.misspeedway.com” align=”alignright” width=”202″][/media-credit](MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA) June 12, 2012 – After a nice off-weekend, Jason Bowles will once again be travelling to a track that he has never turned laps on before. The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to the Wolverine State for the 13th race of the 2012 season. Michigan will mark the first of 16 straight weekends of racing for Bowles and his American Majority team.
Jason on Michigan…..“Michigan is just like my home track of Fontana and I’m really looking forward to running on the new surface. It’s supposed to be extremely smooth and will probably be the fastest I’ve ever gone in a racecar. It was nice to relax during the off-week but I’m ready to get back in the seat of my American Majority No. 81 Toyota for sure. Hopefully we have a big crowd there to see the race.”
Dover Recap…..The Dover race was one of the highlights of the year thus far for Jason and his American Majority team. After starting towards the back, Bowles clawed his way into the top-20 and ran there the entire day. Crew Chief John Monsam had the car handling perfect for Jason and he was able to match the team’s best finish of the season with a 15th. It was a nice boost for the morale in the shop during the off-week and hopefully will help leading into this 16-week run for the summer.
New pavement equals high speeds…..If people thought Michigan International Speedway was fast before, they will really be in for a surprise this weekend. New pavement on the 2-mile D-shaped oval will provide an extreme amount of grip for Jason and the rest of the NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers this weekend. Speeds of well over 200mph going down the straights were recorded in a recent test there by the Sprint Cup Series teams and we expect more of the same this weekend.
Points update…..After 12 races thus far this season, Jason sits 15th in the 2012 driver standings, less than 50 points out of the top-10. The MacDonald Motorsports No. 81 is currently 24th in the owners standings and 49 points ahead of 31st.
Meet Jason at Michigan…..Jason will be taking part in the NASCAR Nationwide Series autograph session on Friday at the track. The session will run from 4:00PM until 5:00PM and include many of the top drivers in the series.
Watch the race…..Fans can watch Jason in the Alliance Truck Parts 250 this Saturday at 3:30PM EST on ABC.
