Short Weekend for Wright at Kansas
The Race to Stop Suicide 200 at Kansas Speedway marked the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series’ second race of The Chase for the NCTS Championship. Friday’s practice and qualifying sessions were both canceled due to rain, with the starting lineup set by the NASCAR metric, placing the No. 81 Chevrolet 28th.
Kris Wright completed nine laps before a broken oil pump bracket led to mechanical issues and forced the No. 81 Warranty Solutions Chevrolet Silverado RST to retire from the race. Wright was scored 31st before the issue and went on to finish in the 36th position.

“It was a bummer of a day. We got through the short track gauntlet and we came into a 1.5-mile track where MHR (McAnally-Hilgemann Racing) brings strong trucks. Shortly after the green flag, my dash lit up red and I quickly realized I didn’t have oil pressure before the day was suddenly over. I’d like to thank Warranty Solutions for the support this year and we’ll be ready to give it another shot at Charlotte.”
