Recently crowned and seven-time ASCS (American Sprint Car Series) champion, Sam Hafertepe Jr. broke the news on Wednesday afternoon that he will be joining a new team for the 2027 Sprint Car season.
The seven-time champion announced he will be joining Jess Jordan Motorsports for the 2027 season after previously spending the past nine seasons with Miles Hill and Hill’s Racing. Hafertepe Jr. will be moving up the ladder to select 410 World of Outlaw and High Limit Sprint Car Series starts for the ’27 season. He dominated the 360 Sprint Car scene with more than 80 wins over the years.
“I’m really looking forward to this challenge and opportunity,” Hafertepe Jr. said in a team press release. “I’ve been focused on 360 sprint car racing for a while now, and I feel like we’re prepared to take the next step with Jess Jordan Motorsports.”
Hafertepe Jr. broke the news this past Sunday night during the ASCS awards ceremony, one night after winning his seventh championship and the race itself this past Saturday night at RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas.
Both Hafertepe Jr. and Hill’s Racing were dominant in their five-year tenure together, and the ASCS legend was thankful to Miles Hill for their time together.
“It was an honor and privilege to drive for Miles Hill and Hill’s Racing,” Hafertepe Jr. added in his press release. “Miles was an exceptional car owner who never put any extra pressure on me, was very patient even in difficult years, and always gave me the equipment to succeed. There aren’t a lot of owners out there like Miles, and I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity he and the Hill family gave me.”
Finally, Hafertepe Jr. said Brody Brown, who had been his head mechanic for the 2026 season, will also be joining the new team as well.
“I’m really looking forward to having Brody back with me for the upcoming season,” he continued in his press release. “There aren’t a lot of teenagers out there with his determination and drive. In addition to Brody, we are looking to hire two additional crew members as we begin this journey to build Jess Jordan Motorsports into one of the top sprint car teams in the country.”
More information about Sam’s 2027 Sprint Car schedule will come later.
