Wright’s Promising Run Ends Early at Talladega
Kris Wright and the No. 81 Warranty Solutions Chevrolet finished 32nd in Saturday’s Love’s RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway after an early incident ended their day on lap 18. Wright showed speed from the start, earning a season-best 12th-place qualifying effort before climbing to sixth on lap one. He remained inside the top-10 and was scored seventh after some shuffling on lap 13 as the field battled three-wide throughout the opening laps.
Unfortunately, Wright’s day came to an early end on lap 18 when a competitor suffered a tire failure and spun into the right rear of the No. 81 Warranty Solutions Chevrolet Silverado RST, sending Wright into the outside wall. Wright was evaluated and safely released from the care center following the incident.
Kris Wright Quote:
“Yeah I feel alright. Yeah I really got to thank Bill McAnally for building really safe trucks, that was the hardest hit of my career, but I’m feeling alright. All I saw was a truck get into my right rear and then I went up into the wall and that was the end of it.”
