OUSTANDING NIGHT FOR JASON WHITE

July 15, 2012. Vernon, BC – Jason White and his #21 A&W Dodge ran his best-ever series finish in front of his hometown crowd yesterday at the Motoplex Speedway, headlined by his vehicle’s sponsor, at the A&W Cruisin’ the Dub 300.

The vehicle was a little tight during practice, and the crew made adjustments to loosen it up for qualifying. Despite the team’s effort to ease the tension on the car’s handling, White clocked an average qualifying time and started the race in 11th place with the middle of the pack.

Despite a less-than-favorable starting position, 11th place put White in good positioning to edge easily into the top ten and he successfully stayed inside for most of the race. Jason’s brother Jim, also behind the wheel at the Motoplex, ran close by his brother early on, and later finished 7th.

#21 had some collision problems, first making contact with the back end of #69 and later with #44. His initial bump with #69 caused some buckling in the hood of his A&W Dodge, but his crew worked quickly to clear it. “Despite the contact I had with a couple cars, my vehicle continued to handle really well,” White said after the race.

The A&W Dodge continued to run strong all night, and in the final green flag run to the finish, White mounted one more charge and earned an incredibly strong finish after a shaky 11th place start.

White flew past the finish line in 5th place – his best-ever series finish in front of his hometown fans.

“The car was great, the cautions fell at the right times and it worked out great,” Jason said. “The crew was phenomenal at pit stops, we beat five cars out on our left side tire stop. It was great to do it in front of the A&W crew and so many friends.”

Jason White and the #21 Dodge team will compete in the entire 2012 NCATS schedule that will take the team from coast to coast in Canada for the 12 events.  Next on the schedule is Edmonton Indy weekend event with the race taking place Sunday July 22nd.
